Its Skagen! The locals call it where the end of the world is. I took three hours of train to this amazing sea village on my dayoff today and it was definitely worth the ride. It is also the place where the Baltic Sea and the North Sea meet but do not mix due to the difference in their density. So you can see waves hitting in opposite directions and a obvious line right in the middle of the ocean.
The lighthouses here are mercury-free. Mercury has been a traditional element for the operation of lighthouse to reduce friction and increase the light intensity. But it is poisonous and harmful to the environment. So the Danish Maritime Authority has developed and been testing the new technology with the highly-intensive LED lights in some lighthouses, including the Skagen Lighthouse.
